Montreal - July 31, 2000 - PensEra Knowledge Technologies Inc announced that the law firm of Cassels, Brock & Blackwell LLP has selected PensEra to develop and deploy a strategic intranet knowledge center that will create a single point of access to business-critical information and resources.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Cassels Brock & Blackwell has grown to more than 140 lawyers supported by a skilled staff and state-of-the-art computer systems. The firm has a reputation for aggressive innovation and cost-effectiveness in solving legal problems. To complement its expertise in the traditional disciplines, the firm has attracted recognized legal specialists in several practice areas, and has added major areas of expertise as its client base has expanded.

"Intranet technologies can provide us with faster, more reliable access to a wider range of information to better serve our clients," said Glenn Zakaib, a partner and chairman of the technology committee at Cassels, Brock & Blackwell. "By consolidating access to key information in our intranet knowledge center, we can make more effective use of resources and expertise. This will benefit our professionals, our clients, and our staff."

"We need to move quickly, and we believe PensEra Knowledge Technologies has the expertise and methodology to produce quick reliable results that make sense in a law firm information environment," Zakaib continued. "In addition PensEra offers a framework that allows us to actively participate in assessment, development and deployment. This gives us confidence that our intranet portal will arrive on time, on budget and suit the specific needs of our firm."

PensEra has developed a broad range of intranet Knowledge Center components that channel the flow of information and activity through a common corporate portal. "Cassels, Brock & Blackwell has invested in some very strong backoffice systems to capture the 'data' from business and practice," said Peter Zver, President of PensEra. "Now, the Knowledge Center can help transform that data into useful, accessible information to better serve their clients and respond to new opportunities."
