PensEra Knowledge Technologies Connects Lawyers to Information and Clients
Montreal - March 1, 2000
-- Zver & Associates announces the formation of PensEra Knowledge Technologies, a company specializing in business-to-business e-commerce for the legal profession. PensEra will offer a full range of e-business solutions that allow lawyers to instantly access internal information and better communicate and collaborate with their clients and colleagues.
"In the new Internet economy, speed is the name of the game, both for businesses and for the lawyers who serve them," said Peter Zver, President of PensEra Knowledge Technologies. "Lawyers need the latest and best technology tools to keep up with their clients, or they risk being left behind."
"With the rapid daily advancement of technology, often the hardest part is knowing how and where to begin," Zver continued. "Law firms and legal departments rarely have the time, the patience and the resources required to build effective intranets and extranets for knowledge sharing and collaboration. We plan to make PensEra the one source lawyers can turn to when they need to make it happen."
PensEra will offer several different methods for law firms and legal departments to accelerate their e-business initiatives.
For a law office that wants to jump-start its own internal development, PensEra will offer a fully-developed intranet and extranet "foundation" system along with expert services to install and integrate it. The "foundation" system consists of a robust infrastructure and ready-to-use knowledge components such as Outreach Management, Resource Management, Time Management and Expertise Locator. The goal of the foundation system is help a law office to establish early success and funnel traffic to the intranet or extranet, thereby planting the seed for strategic KM initiatives that can distinguish the firm from its competitors.
Similarly, if the office already has an intranet, they can enhance it by adding components from the proven PensEra Legal KM suite. These components build participation and add vital information processes that can help transform the intranet into a platform for knowledge management.
Finally, if a law firm or corporate legal department wants to build a strategic technology advantage from the ground up, PensEra will offer custom intranet/extranet development services designed to create an ongoing framework for knowledge retention and collaboration. In partnership with PensEra, the law office can position its technology to address new business-to-business e-commerce opportunities arising in the new economy. This approach provides the organization with the greatest competitive agility and strategic benefits.
All of the PensEra e-commerce components and services are targeted to meet the unique requirements of lawyers and law offices. Initially as Zver & Associates, and now as PensEra, the company has spent more than a decade developing and integrating technology systems in law firms and corporate law offices across North America. PensEra will leverages the experience and expertise of its management and staff's long-term involvement in the legal technology sector to produce e-commerce solutions that are meaningful to the lawyer.
"To date, few lawyers have directly benefited from their expensive investment in technology," said Zver, "Many systems miss the mark, either because they are too generic or too complicated to be useful to the busy professional, or they fail to deliver the right information to the person who needs it."
"Building a successful legal e-commerce strategy requires an intimate knowledge of how lawyers work and a strong understanding of the enabling technologies. We have worked on the 'inside' processes of many firms over the years, and we know how to deliver information and tools that address the needs of lawyer-consumers and their clients. PensEra's Internet technologies will empower the lawyer by simplifying access to information and ideas - anytime, anywhere."
